About
Ronique Bastine Robinson is a highly respected attorney, educator, and leader in the field of family law, with over three decades of distinguished service to the legal profession and her community. She is the founder and managing attorney of Bastine Law Group, a premier Texas law firm dedicated to providing compassionate, strategic, and client-focused representation in complex family law matters. Under her leadership, the firm has become known as “The Family Law Firm That Cares About Families,” serving as a trusted advocate for clients navigating divorce, custody, property division, and emerging issues such as gestational agreements and Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) considerations for high school and collegiate athletes. Born in Los Angeles, California, Ms. Robinson relocated to Houston, Texas, as a pre-teen and grew up deeply influenced by a family legacy rooted in education and the law. She is the daughter of the late Attorney Volly Bastine, whose legal career inspired her own, and the granddaughter of the late Dr. Lillian Bastine, a pioneering educator and devoted supporter of the Blue Triangle Branch of the YWCA. This legacy of service and advocacy laid the foundation for Ms. Robinson’s career as a dedicated legal professional and community leader.
Admitted to practice law in Texas in 1991, Ms. Robinson has earned numerous professional distinctions that reflect her leadership and expertise in her field. She is board-certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and holds certifications in both basic and advanced family law mediation. In 2023, she became certified in arbitration through the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), where she also serves as a Fellow and member of the Board of Governors (2024–2027). Her broad legal experience includes over two decades of service as Associate Municipal Judge for the City of Stafford (1999–2022) and decades of trial and appellate advocacy for families across Texas.
Beyond her practice, Ms. Robinson is a respected educator and thought leader. She has served as an adjunct professor at Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law, teaching advanced seminars in environmental crimes, and continues to share her expertise as a lecturer at bar associations, law schools, and continuing legal education (CLE) programs nationwide. Her speaking engagements span topics including trial skills, leadership in law firms, enforcement and drafting of complex family law orders, ethical law firm marketing, and the impact of race, religion, and diversity in family law practice.
Her leadership extends through key positions in numerous professional organizations. Ms. Robinson currently serves as President of the Burta Rhoads Raborn American Inn of Court (2024–2025) and holds executive roles with the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists, the Gulf Coast Family Law Specialists Association, and the National Association of Women Judges, where she has served as Texas State Chair since 2012. Through these roles, she has mentored countless attorneys, promoted diversity and inclusion in the profession, and fostered professional growth within the family law bar.
An accomplished author and media contributor, Ms. Robinson is the author of From Divorce to Deliverance: Divorce Doesn’t Have to Mean Devastation, a guide offering practical strategies for navigating divorce while preserving one’s stability and well-being. She has been featured as a legal correspondent for Fox News Houston and has shared her expertise as a coach for women entrepreneurs through the EmPowerHer program.
Ms. Robinson’s educational background includes an LL.M. in Environmental Law from the University of Houston, a Juris Doctor from Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Cum Laude, from Howard University. She also broadened her international legal perspective by studying in the Notre Dame Law Center’s London Law Program.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Ms. Robinson is a devoted wife, to Press Robinson, Jr., and mother to three adult children, Reylon who is also a Howard University alum, Press, III who followed in his father’s legacy and attends Southern University and Portia, a student at Adelphi University. Outside of her legal and community endeavors, she enjoys golfing, reading, and traveling. These pursuits reflect her commitment to balance and personal growth, values she instills in both her family and her professional practice.
